Right there with you Bronco. 4 days without power wasn’t terrible by any means but it’d be nice if we didn’t have to do that again. Plus muzzleloader just opened up in my zone, and gun season starts in less than a week.

Bad for my state but I worry about it hitting Perry for a possible third time. Those poor folks have been hit twice already. I have been unable to get a hold of the hunting and fishing magazine out of Perry that I run a small ad in. Nice folks who have endured enough already. Their office got flooded earlier in the year and phones were down. Hope they’re ok and don’t face a third storm.

This is really bad for Florida. My dad lives in Clearwater which is west of Tampa. His house flooded in Derby. They literally got done fixing it the day before Helene hit and it flooded again. Now another possible major storm hitting 2 weeks after Helene is so disheartening. He’s lived in this house for 25 years, and this is the first hurricane season they’ve flooded. He told me today it’s time to punt.
I’m in the Orlando area and I’m stocked up on meat, booze, and gas. I have a portable AC and a generator. Gonna trim some big limbs around the house tomorrow and get ready to hunker down. already reserved a hotel room Wednesday night for the wife and daughter. They get a staycation. Me and the dog gonna protect the house.

This storm will intensify over land, its forward speed is the only good thing about it, at least it wont sit for long.

If the forecast holds Clearwater Beach will be underwater be a lot. They have strong building codes there, and mandatory evacuations, but that is going to be a hard ugly storm surge shot. I hope folks are ready. I expect bridges across the bay will be knocked out to some degree. Inland damage will be furious from the wind but at least severe flooding will be limited because it wont last a real long time.
