68 acres and I keep about 20 of it mowed. I like living in the sticks and having a place to run a tractor on. It is therapeutic at times. Just me and Jesus in the sunshine and a diesel humming along. A good time to reflect on life. I could not live in a city on a tiny yard. I like to be able to walk outside and pee. Cant let a little thing like having neighbors keep you from peeing in the yard.......

Mowing is the biggest waste of a man's time there is. . I've never understood why folks purposely set a house up with acres and acres of grass to mow.......... Yes Sir, you and I would get along fine, I got almost the same setup, enjoy the tractor time im fixing to retire so im looking forward to it. Retired at 62 and I'm 68 now. Enjoy every minutes of it!!!!!

I have around 4 acres of centipede and run a commercial exmark 60 inch mower. I can cut and weedeat in about 2hrs and 15 min. All zero turns arent the same. True commercial mowers have higher speeds hence they cut faster than homeowner versions. No way I would go back to a non commercial mowing unit or anything less than 60 inches
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Despite my better judgement, I find myself looking at a home on 5ac with 3-4 being grass. For you guys with big yards, how long is it going to take me to mow 3-4ac with a 5’ zero turn mower? I bushhog my fields at the farm all the time, but it doesn’t matter if I let it get out of hand. Mama ain’t gonna be happy with that scenario. Hopefully eventually get a few acres of it in wild flowers and a garden etc. Don't do it, I mow 5 acres and I hate it with a passion. Takes half a damn day with a 72 inch zero turn mower. I've threatened to have my two 3 acre fields planted in pines I don't know how many times.

Plant it in Pines and leave about an acre around the house for your yard is my suggestion. The only way to cut 5 acres is with a 15' bush hog.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

A guy down the road from me cuts and trims my yard for 60 bucks a whack. Best money I've spent. No hassling with gas, weed eater or lawn mower break downs and service is worth that to me. But if I were retired I'd probably enjoy it. Right now, time is more important to me.

When my son graduated high school I cut it one time and said nope, not going to spend my free time cutting grass. I have paid someone to cut my 1.5ac and I have never regedit that decision for one minute.

On the other hand, I can spend countless hours on the tractor and enjoy every minute. 😁
Bushhogging and mowing are definitely not the same....... Buy a John Deere 1 or 2 series tractor and mow it. My 1026r with a 5 foot deck is a grass cutting machine. Keep the 4wd off and it will about turn around on itself. And its diesel.

I will come cut larger tracts of grass too, if you aren't to far from me. 72 in mower deck or I can bring a 48 in flail mower and stripe it.

I do about 3.2 acres of grass with my 61" Scag and it takes about 1:45 of mowing time.
