What would make you seriously look at purchasing a GMC or Chevrolet truck again?
Looks like they have 10-15,000 off. I’m seeing 4 door 4x4 for 43-45,000.
I think they have the best looking trucks right now, but I’d need 10 year 100,000 BTB warranty I think.

It seems like every other truck you see these days is a GMC.

I will never own another GM vehicle. Screw me once. The Silverado I had rode so much better and was much more comfortable to me than my current Tundra. But the drivetrain was gutless, and I had so much trouble getting the transmission replaced twice. The Tundra isn’t as comfy inside, but would rip the axles out from under a new Chevy.

We just went with dodges. It ain’t a Chevrolet but it’s stayed on the road so far.

I just swapped over to ford after driving a Chevy Z71 12-17 and GMC Sierra 17-24. Never had any issues with the Chevy, but the GMC had the common trans issues then started having fuel issues so i got rid of it. I know a lot of people with 2016 -2021 GMCs that have all had trouble with them. Never say never, but i don't see how i would buy another GMC anytime in the near future. Never been a Ram fan and dont love the V6 in the Tundra so Ford was the best option for me. I will say to get a ford at the price point of a chevy/gmc like i had, i had to downgrade in features.

I’ve been kinda wanting a smaller (“mid-size”) truck and really like the looks of the newer Canyons/Colorado’s, but I just don’t trust them. I think they look better that any of the others. Frontier is probably the best buy in that category, but I just can’t get excited about them. I don’t love the looks of the new Tacomas and heard lots of negative reviews on comfort

In other words, the only one I’d have is the one I trust the least…..so I’m not doing anything anytime soon

Ford still makes the best trucks I'm getting into 10+ years of service records on a fleet of vehicles where I have the service cost per truck calculated.

Ford hands down. Love it or hate it. It just is what it is... every time we get something non-Ford the service costs are equal to or higher. Certainly have had a lemon from every manufacturer. These are Domestic trucks we don't run anything foreign.

Good info there.
So 2014-2024 roughly?
All older models?
I’d be interested in what year models performed the best.
GM needs to do something with their warranty besides the lawsuits.

Go to a repair shop and ask what they see the most. I’ve learned of some problems that way. Unfortunately after google didn’t find all of the problems for me.

Thought you might be interested in this CarGurus listing:

Something like this, it’s shame it’s not deemed reliable.
Good looking truck right here!

You can get the comp in a ford (STX 4x4) about the same price right now.

And not only transmission issues. It’s the AFM system, lifter issues, oil consumption problems, ac condensers, info screens, brake vacuum pump, shocks, etc.

Do the 2024/2025 still use the same transmission and the V8 AFM bull crap?

Get it with the 3.0 baby Duramax and it wouldn't be that price I'm sure, but I believe it would perform and last better.
Oh yeah and the mileage. Yea baby..I'm diggin it.

I will probably go this route in another year after they have had the newer generation motor in production for at 2 yrs.

Never again GM for me. Last one I had developed transmission issues the first week I had it. GM customer service told me they weren't fixing it and to sue them if I didn't like it.

The transmission issues are only in the 8-speed 5.3. The 6.2 uses the 10-speed transmission and does not have an issue, what I was told. I have the 5.3 2018 and the transmission sucks and it will go out but I am not disappointed in my purchase.

It cost me $3200 to keep it under bumper-to-bumper warranty for almost 10 years. At 5 years it ran out and I purchased a new warranty at my GM dealership. I only put about 10-12k a year on my truck.
