Me and a friend were squirrel hunting behind our old neighborhood where we grew up (probably 10 or 11 yrs old at the time hunting with Benjamin .22 pellet rifles). Saw a squirrel climbing a tree and shot it. Walked over to it, picked it up, and noticed there was no blood or pellet hole in the squirrel. Checked the tree where it was when I shot and could see where the pellet hit the tree. Got home and we get to cleaning the squirrels...that one must have had a heart attack because there was no entrance or exit hole from the pellet, no blood, nothing to indicate that I had shot it.
My uncle called that "barkin" a squirrel. Bullet hit the bark of the tree right next to it's head knocking a chunk loose and striking it's head at a few hundred fps. That's what he said anyway. I have no way of proving or disproving it though.
