The Power Company is regulated by the Utility Board. Twinkle has been the head of that board for many years. She is a Republican. Alabama Power petitions the board to charge X and indicated why they need to charge this much. When they have requested a hike in rates the board has always approved it. And why would they not, the backbone of the Republican party is trickle down economics. Tax cuts for large corporations should trickle down into higher wages for employees. As business owners, the wife and I welcome tax cuts. Tax cuts for increase in profits, this philosophy should eventually benefit the American worker.
All these price increases this year are probably due to increase in their production costs. See the Power Company is guaranteed to make money under any economic conditions. They will never eat the cost s of higher production costs.
