Bless you for taking such good care of your mother, a lot of people wouldnt have the stomach to do what you’re doing. It great that it is possibly a medical induced condition. However, I strongly suggest you begin the process of learning options on some type of long term care. I went through all that with both my parents, it’s a complicated process that needs to begin well in advance of need. The sad part is, once their health starts decline it only gets worse. Have the answers before you have another episode.

I have been making sure she gets her meds and the Dr got her one of them meters to keep check of it. Last Thursday her blood sugar meter showed her below 50 for a few hours then back up but still under 100 then friday all the craziness happened. Now I think it was a low sugar problem. Going to see her Dr at 2:30 today and see what he thinks. Saturday morning she was back to normal pretty much. This has happened about three time this year. So I hope it is just low sugar and to make sure she eats when taking her sugar meds. She on 2000mg of metaformin one 1000mg bill twice daliy and a glipipride (sp) twice a day. I also don't think she had ate anything friday when this happen.

That does sound like better news! I forgot to add earlier, we recently found out with both MIL and FIL that UTIs can also make elderly folks act crazy at times even if they’re not showing any other symptoms of one. Just like blood sugar being off, it’s amazing just how much it affects.

This is very true and something I just learned recently with my own mother

Hope she gets to feeling better soon. If a person suddenly starts acting confused etc that’s the first thing we check for.
