She's having trouble doing stuff like just standing there staring at her closet but will not get dress. She did not get to the toilet and crapped in the floor in front of it. Just seat on the toilet looking around. Could not get her to clean it up or herself. Took me 6 hours to get her and the floor cleaned up. She got the worst of it up and I finished. Got her in shower and she seat on a stool and bathed. But still had mess on the back of her legs. She got out of the tub went to the back bathroom and seat on that toilet and would not get dressed. I finally got her to put on a diaper and sleeping top. She eating now but she's having good days bad days. Gonna take her to her gp Monday unless tomorrow is worse then er.
My brother and I spent last year caring for our mom who had dementia. I also had 2 sitters who would come during the day so we could go to work. Believe me, it's only going to get worse.. her thought process was slipping for a few months but in March of 23 she went into full blown dementia. We watched her get worse every week. Got her in a nursing home in Hanceville in october.. she passed in January of 24. Medicare will cover home health which includes bathing. Sitters out of your pocket. Get some help brother because it will kill you trying to care for her.
Lynn Campisi is an excellent elder care attorney. I hired her to help me navigate the medicaid application process because my mom's finances were a quagmire. Money well spent
