Thanks for all you guys replies, SEW I wasn't goin to let them cut any of the hardwoods and guy said pulp was so cheap that they would not fool with the pulp tops! guy said every load would be marked and logged and I could pull the marked loads at any time. Also said if I was unhappy at any time I could stop the logging. There's probably not much high grade hardwood down in lower MS. Regardless, for lower grade, those prices for hardwood logs and pulp are give-it-away prices. You have to play their game on hardwood down South. They buy it by the ton , dirt cheap and pick out the good logs and send them North and make good $. Up in Hardwood country , where there is high grade hardwood, saw logs are sold by grade and scale , not lumped together by the ton. Different species have different grades and different pricing and some of it runs into REAL $.

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.
