Get a lump-sum price, then the buyer has their own money tied up in the various products and grades of logs. That will help insure that you don’t have more valuable products being hauled as lesser products.


It’ll also ensure you get a on extra conservative offer so the buyer won’t lose his a$$ when the markets plummet. Honest loggers do exist and you’ll get more money by the ton if you use one. Best of both worlds would be to get a per unit contract with a minimum sum guarantee. Not many logging companies will do this, but some will. They usually have plenty of wood to work tho.
