Whatever small arms Our government is allowing Our soldiers to carry, then Our citizens should be able to carry. I am talking about rifles and pistols. Not grenade launchers and claymore mines. We should be able to defend Ourselves from a government that becomes tyrannical in due time like they all eventually do.

I'm OK with law abiding citizens having access to tomahawk missles and F18s if they can afford it. When the bill of rights was written citizens could own any weapons that the government's could own. Now they ban us from owning some very basic weapons while they are leaving some pretty sophisticated weapons for enemies of the American citizens that our government is supposed to protect.

Many of the cannon and ships used during the Revolutionary War were privately owned. If I can afford it I should be able to commission and outfit my own aircraft carrier and battle group. Have an Apache helicopter. Fully functional tanks.

I am not sure how a bunch of Wagner groups running around the USA would work out in the best interest of the citizens though. All of the Wagner type groups would have to be on the same page and that would be highly unlikely to happen.

When the 2A was written, citizens could own their own private warship, the biggest, most expensive and most technologically advanced weapon system in the history of the world at that time. Furthermore, you could even get a letter from the government allowing you to engage in legal piracy on their behalf, against our enemies. ‘Merica

That depends on what 'automatic' you're talking about. M240's and m249's are good for a lot more than covering fire. A mounted gau17 or gau19 is useful for a LOT more than covering fire
