I shot one with a 17 hmr the other afternoon in the hayfield and it ran probably 200 yards in a big circle and died. Shot another one with it yesterday and I hope it died but didn’t even look for it. Main thing is I saw the little fawn behind the house today so all is well. The first one I shot with it behind the shoulder, it carried it a ways. After that I start head shooting with it if they were at a reasonable distance..
