Cornerstone plus,roundup etc

Curious about this myself.
I'm about to have an old flower bed dug out and put 3/4" stone in it's place.
No fabric or anything because I still need it to drain.
Don't confuse my user name with any sort of alphabet faggotry.
It only stands for drag racing, and Route 66 was my home track back in the day.

I had some land mulched, and about a year later used cornerstone with good results. Just curious if you are planning to plant grass on this? I have kept mine cut with a bush hog, but I want to turn it into pasture land and plant bahia on it. Thinking of disking and planting, but not sure if I will have good results.

If you got a lot of woody stems, I’d add some Triclopyr to the Gly mix along with a surfactant like Class Act.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

There’s no standard answer to this question. It depends on what is there. If there are hardwood sprouts then you better add something more than gly cause it won’t get them. Gly plus Triclopyr would likely yield the best results if you plan on killing the hardwoods and planting it next year. You’ll still likely get some stump sprouting next year.

As others have said, there are too many variables to just give a “standard” answer. Mulching many species before spraying can result in poor control as you just can’t get enough material into small resprouts to kill larger root systems. What if it is a stand off 25 year old pines where a bunch of sweet gum and various small oaks were mulched. What herbicides would be best in that situation? Specific rates would be appreciated. Also, what time of year would you spray…fall? For this, if you keep the pines, and imazapyr plus Escort mix would work well. Imazapyr at least at 0.5% v/v with Escort at 1-2 oz/A. Will you spray broadcast or spot spray?
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

Just now seeing this. I’m not real sure what it will need at this point. If spot spraying will work, we will probably do that. There was a fair amount of sweet gum in the stand so there might be stuff popping up everywhere in the spring.
