Anybody know on average how many does a buck breeds during the rut?-It ain't many...
How many years do you think these released bucks are going to survive?-Not long...
How much genetic impact does that 1 buck make?-Not Much, if any...
Plain and simple this is makes no sense biologically or mathematically. It would take hundreds of bucks to change the genetic makeup of Marengo County. How do you know that they are not going to release hundreds of deer? I am hearing that they may have enough landowners coming on board to do just that.
