I used to take my boys when they were younger. They used to get all pumped up for deer season when we’d go. That was enough of a reason for me to go. I haven’t been in probably 10 years I guess.

Man I used to love to go for that very reason.......You knew hunting season was right around the corner and that's when you started counting down the days.

The time I went to the Rick and Bubba expo it was indeed better than the actual deer expo, however, I did not think they were having it anymore? Last time I went I think was in 2017.

Tactacam 6.0 was $240 with a free remote. I bought 1. I thought the show was o.k.

Anyone see the booth with the "barrel extensions" and fuel filters? Saw that and looked around, there seemed to be someone closely watching everyone standing there.

Pay to park, pay to get in, to see stuff for sale. No thanks.

That’s why I prefer the Finley (sp?) Center gun shows in Hoover.

Saw that last year. Definitely seemed sketchy.

Been years since I’ve been there. Wasn’t good then and now you have to pay to look and shop. And from the folks I know that go, every year they say, “be glad you didn’t go. You didn’t miss a thing.” I can find much better ways to spend a weekend.

If it's 4 tickets for $25 that's not a bad deal. If you have young kids I think that's not a bad deal for a Sunday afternoon.

I tried to move past that at a natural pace, so the surveillance wouldn’t mark me. wink

The show is what it is. There’s about 10-20% of it that’s of true interest to me. You can get some good deals if you’re after blinds, stands, etc….cuz they don’t want to haul them back. There’s always some dog stuff. Anyone saying Rick and Bubba’s (and Ainsworth’s) flea market is better, are about 400 vendors shy of a show. Louisiana Sportsman’s is the one to go to. Anything with ‘Buckmasters’ on it gives me the same heebies as seeing man buns or rainbow flag stickers on a Prius.

Man we all used to look forward to this event. Last time I went it was bad. Haven’t been in years. I think it went to pot when the guy who cut the brick then sliced the tomato stopped selling knives. Lol

I haven't been in several years, probably 20 or more. I'm thinking about going tomorrow and taking my wife, just to get away from the house on what has been a very rainy weekend so far. She'll probably like it better than me. It was once a very fun thing to do though. I used to always come home with a new treestand, boots, a suit of the newest camo, a new muzzleloader, 575 duzen arras, or some combo thereof.

Last time I was there I bought a couple of orange cap covers with an elastic band that held them on. Great little item. Wear your orange until you get in the stand and then stuff it in your pocket. It would wad up small enough that you could put it in a watch pocket if you wanted to. If they still sell them I'll pick up a couple more since my old ones are long gone.

I wonder how many home visits will be done soon.
