At this point, there are only 2 reasonable conclusions to draw.

#1 - It was gross incompetence, and should result in the entire chain of command of the USSS in this incident either resigning or being fired. Maybe even higher in the administration, with some possibility of jail time for key players.

#2 - It was a deliberate act allowed by the same people and should result in the same, plus executions for some, and jail time for others.

At least when they killed Kennedy they pretended that it wasn't them.

An elevated position with a 140 yard direct line of sight

Can't excuse that mistake, if it was a mistake.

Totally agree but, weather he is your man or not, candidate or not he is still at this time “ Former President Trump” and that changes protocol

A "former president" who is the lead candidate to unseat their choice. That alone should have been enough to change the protocol.

Then they weakened it even further to provide "Extra assets" to jill biden at her fundraiser on Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Yes, you read that correctly. USSS seniors pulled people off of Trump's detail this weekend to add security for jill.

A long article, but scroll down and read the part where the Secret Service observed this guy three times including once with a range finder. They secured the building. WTF.

Did I read correctly that there was a team inside the building?

yeah. They were suspicious of the guy walking around with a range finder and coming back with a backpack and then just disappearing. Enough so, that one of them took a picture of him and they supposedly called it in, but never engaged or walked outside to investigate or question the individual. Nor, when everything was going on, did they attempt to get up on the roof and control the situation and instead let the local yokel Barney Fiffe police try to address it.

This is just a display of gross incompetence IMO. I'm not believing any Conspiracy Theory until I hear the Coms between the SS and local LE. I bet there is effectively zero. Also want to hear the counter sniper team's coms. Hopefully all that is recorded or something we can retrieve I have no idea.

This is what the dumpster fire that started under Obama looks like. Incompetence at all levels of our Federal Government. In this instance Gross Negligence. I think the female officer who couldn't holster her gun was a desk jockey.

If Trump thought they were doing a good job protecting him he was wrong. Getting along with everyone and having some really nice guys you treat like family surrounding you who are willing to take a bullet for you... That doesn't keep a shooter off a rooftop. That's everyone else's job.

Who's getting fired?

The fact that the SS hasn't addressed any of this speaks volumes. This is the worst display ever and they know it. Trying to get their story straight and their excuses lined up.

First story was floating the idea that Jill Biden took some of the SS. They thought it would redirect folks to be mad at her to shift blame. It didn't gain traction because so many people saw the guy and filmed him.

Second story was it was the local police fault. They were in charge of securing the roof. Then local police get pissed and start sharing the fact the Secret Service was sitting inside the building drinking coffee making sure nobody was in the building while Trump spoke.

The FBI states it was a loan gunman, but this came out before they said they could not gain access to the shooter's phone. Elon Musk blew it up and said, how can you say it is a lone gunman if you don't have access to his phone.

Then the head of Secret Service does an exclusive interview with ABC where she admits what the local police said was true, but then tries to soft pedal the whole thing about safety for the employees because the slope of the roof.

THESE MF'RS ARE LYING AND THEY GOT CAUGHT. THE GUY WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO MISS AND GOD SAVED TRUMP BY HIM TURNING HIS HEAD SLIGHTLY AS THE SHOT WENT OFF.

NOBODY WILL STEP UP AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE IT ALL LEADS TO THE WHITE HOUSE IMO.

What other 'former' president's have you seen referred to as 'former president'? The media never refers to obama, bush, clinton, etc as 'former president...blank'
There is a reason the verbiage is different for Trump.

I guess it’s just a pet peeve of mine, I don’t like it when people refer to a “Former President “ as President Trump, Obama, Bush, Clinton. But, sticking to fact there’s a difference in security for present/former.

Agreed on all except the WH being behind it. I don't believe the WH is in charge of anything. They are just the tool the real power brokers are using for the moment. I think it's also possible this kid is just a scapegoat for the real shooter. What I don't believe is possible is that he climbed up , crawled the roof and got in position all while those people are yelling and pointing him out and law enforcement just looks at the ground shuffling their feet like they don't hear or see anything. I take that back. I think that's possible. It's just not possible all that happened without coordination among law enforcement/ SS heads to look the other way. It's just not possible he's there for 30 minutes without someone in charge saying "Let's get Trump off stage" at bare minimum. Regardless if SS was part of the plan from the beginning or if it simply evolved into looking the other way once they knew a possible shooter was getting in position, someone at the top became complicit at some point. I highly doubt that's a decision that was made spur of the moment but that's more plausible than just believing it was sheer incompetence.

If that's the best lie she can come up with then she needs to be fired for being stupid. If she told the truth, no matter what it is, the issue wouldn't be worse than the lie.

Capehorn I agree I hate that too. But where did you get the idea that protection for a former president is different from the current president?

A regular FOX contributor who is former assistant director of CIA or Secret Service(I forget which) stated such. It's logical since the loss of a sitting President is much more consequential to the country and the world.
