The military guy did indeed point his rifle in the direction of Trump getting in the vehicle

He just couldn't get a clear shot. This was a deep state attempt . No way in hell that secret service would just let a rooftop be unprotected.
Now we are learning that a ladder has been placed before the event to allow access. If it looks and quacks like a duck it is a duck . They thought the shooter would be successful and then the government could just focus on the cover-up.

He did not point his weapon inside the car. He is actually on the other side of the car. He raises his weapon and looks at his weapon to check something and then puts it back down. Stop jumping to conclusions guys.

If he was about to try to shoot trump he would be immediately killed, why would he need a clear shot?

Not opposed to females in the SS but I think it is ridiculous to have the agents that are surrounding Trump/closest to Trump that are not as tall or at least close to his height. When you watch the video of them surrounding him and moving offstage he is totally exposed where the female agent is positioned due to her height!

Shouldn't this be a very basic concept??

I wouldn't put ANY short agents regardless of sex in a close position to the President... period!

I also really would avoid shorter agents in general because you want to be able to see into any crowd and vertically challenged folks just can't see through crowds or over other taller objects as well.

I don't question her heart and need to serve, but yea, I told my wife the same thing. No knock on her, she's just too short to cover him properly. He wasn't making her job easier, but I get why he reacted the way he did.

With that said, the guy ya'll are saying pointed his gun at the president, didn't look like it to me. Looks like he saw a potential threat on the driver side of the vehicle, sighted it, verified no threat. I didn't see anything like what some of ya'll are describing.

Resting quietly

Witnesses saying they saw the guy climbing up 2 mins prior and told law enforcement and he was still allowed to get rounds off. Unreal

That guy was well past the car, and on the other side of it. The camera being zoomed in distorts the depth perception but he was pointing his rifle down the opposite side of the car, at something/someone well behind the back of the vehicle.

I read Thomas Mathew Crooks was on the rooftop for an estimated 3 to 4 minutes before firing the AR commenced. People were pointing and screaming to the Secret Service agents and Law Enforcement that He was climbing up there and that He was up on rooftop. They simply allowed this psychopath to fire off rounds when He was already spotted several minutes prior. This simply does not add up at all and it stinks to the highest level.

SS or whomever was in charge fumbled this bigly . They should have had a couple men over on the roof where the shooter was. He had a close, superior position. One would think there would be a couple of drones in the air monitoring the area.

Those trees back behind Trump look to be well within range also.

Yes I agree. They were outside the security area and could easily have been carrying. But all the people interviewed on the ground close to the building, you can tell, don't seem like firearm enthusiasts. Plus the fact that there are snipers and law enforcement everywhere kind of deters anyone from bringing or pulling a firearm. I have thought to myself what would I do if I was in the ground and saw a guy trying to get on a roof to assassinate someone. And it's hard to say unless I was actually in that position.

Pulling a gun to dispatch an assassin is a near 100% death sentence, even though you’d be doing the right thing. The SS is going to immediately eliminate ALL potential threats, including the hero. That’s not a win win situation.

What I find puzzling is why didn’t they wisk Trump off stage. The secret service obviously knew that there was a threat by the actions of the snipers on the roof. They could have taken trump off stage, cleared the threat and then continued. Possibly with no shots fired. That raises huge questions to me.

I saw that too, and have questions, but some of the delay was caused by Trump himself. He had to stand and let folks know he was still here. Trump was pumped and pissed but he also knew that we had to be let known that he was alive. If we had uncertainty from the start, things would not have rested last night.

There may be a chain link fence between the Fair Grounds and the building the shooter was on.

At some point this was going to happen and realistically it may happen again. They have done just about everything possible to destroy this man and none of it has worked. I'm very thankful that either the shooter was rushed, incompetent or just a act of God that prevented Trump from being killed. It's a very sad state our country is in.
