Anyone hear ever installed one?

My front sidewalk has a step down, then up to the front porch. The step down slopes away from the house, over time it gathers mud and pooling water. I'm wanting to install a channel drain and concrete pad to build this area up closer to the porch. The existing sidewalk and new pad will slope slightly to the channel drain.

Most of these appear to be designed to connect to PVC. I'm wanting to use the black corrugated french drain pipe. Extend it from the sidewalk around to both sides of my house. I'll cover with mulch/straw. I will also connect three gutters to the system as well. The goal is to remove the step down/step up and eliminate the muddy sidewalk in that area. The gutters, etc are just extra, might as well do it right while I'm there.

I also plan on installing a PVC pipe under the sidewalk to route flower bed drip sprinkler lines and flood light cords through.

My question is, can the corrugated pipe be used instead of the PVC in this setting?

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
