That's what I've always heard, but I think we've been lied to. They got 23 acres of bermuda here right after a 5" rain. Ate it in less than 36 hours.

Armyworms could eat a 1 acre food plot in one night, no problem.


The best way to tell if you're about to have a catastrophy is to look at the grass. Bermuda will look like it's had a light frost on it. The tips will be "burned" looking. The stem or leaf has been bitten by then. I don't know if you'll see damage on cereal grain shoots or if they'll just be gone, but if you see any brown shrivelled tips on the blades, look out.
