I was working a construction job in Ohio and a group of us from Alabama would go to a rock quarry on the weekends to hang out drink and jump off the rocks. It was almost an hour drive to the quarry. One weekend when we got there a storm was coming up but I was determined to go jump at least one time so I swam across to the other side climbd up and dove off. As I was swimming back across lightning struck a tree on the bank and it felt like someone hit me hard on the chest and back. I was stunned for a min. and when I got my senses back I swam out of that water like a motor boat.
I was blessed to live thru that one.
I dont think it affec affec affected me much.

I had an uncle hit by lightning while closing a gate at his farm. Knocked him about 10-20 feet, burned him down one arm real bad, knocked his shoes off and burned all his toenails off. He doesn't know exactly how long he was unconscious, but it was more than a couple of minutes. After that if it started to cloud up a little he headed for the house. That is the only thing I ever knew him to be afraid of after that.
