Who has got them?
I went to my club this weekend to look around and over ˝ of our 40+ fields are infested. I expect it's only a matter of time before they worms destroy all of our fields.

They found them in my yard last week. Sprayed them pretty early, so hopefully not too much damage. I really don't want to replace all of my sod right now.

I have been spraying them in yards for the last month, very easily killed, only requires 1/4 oz of bifenthrin per 1000 s.f. a one gallon jug of crosscheck ( bifenthrin) is only 35$ fertilize your bermuda and it will shake off the damage done by them little jokers
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers..........

How far south have they been found this year so far? I have
seen a couple other post on here about them. We have never had them before in Conecuh County.

Had a friend get them in his hay field. He caught them early enough and sprayed for them.

Sprayed some recently on freshly grassed baseball fields. They came on in no time and wore the bermuda out.

They ate an acre food plot in less than a week. We are afraid its too late to do anything. We are likely going to have to replant 40 fields.

We get them every couple years in our hay fields in Auburn. We usually catch them early enough to spray.

A friend of mine has them in his fields just outside of Montgomery. His fields went from beautiful lush green to dirt in a week's time.

Talked to a guy I know with a sod farm in prattville the other day.He said they wiped out a big majority of one if his sod fields.

One good reason why not to plant too early, and not saying you did.

That's what I've always heard, but I think we've been lied to. They got 23 acres of bermuda here right after a 5" rain. Ate it in less than 36 hours. Armyworms could eat a 1 acre food plot in one night, no problem. The best way to tell if you're about to have a catastrophy is to look at the grass. Bermuda will look like it's had a light frost on it. The tips will be "burned" looking. The stem or leaf has been bitten by then. I don't know if you'll see damage on cereal grain shoots or if they'll just be gone, but if you see any brown shrivelled tips on the blades, look out.

some of the stuff thats in deer mix will grow back. i work at a feed and seed store. the army worms just eat the tops of the grass not the main seed. the seed is rooted in the ground if yall got the rain that we did here in central alabama you should be allrite. if not come to sanders farm supply and buy some more seed.
