That is who Hartselle just hired as their new head baseball coach. He's been the pitching coach at USA the past 6 years and was on Troys staff before that. He was also the HC at Niceville Florida for a couple years. Do any of you guys from down that way know anything about him?
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

Niceville has a reputation for hiring quality coaches. Phillips coached there 2 yrs. Won 20+ games both years. Had a enough talent both years, that they probably would have won with or without him (bunch of those kids ended up playing in college and JUCO, and at least two of them ended up doing short stints in the majors). Never heard anything bad about him as a coach and his move when he left, was from HS to D1 college, so it was a natural progression coaching wise. Probably a solid hire. Several guys on here now, umpired in the panhandle for many years. They'd probably be the ones who would really be able to tell you more about him and who he really is.
