What's the best thing use to kill the crabgrass out of the fancy grass??.....That's about the only "weed" I got left growing in the yard now but the stuff I bought from Home Depot just doesnt seem to be doing the trick

Apply a pre-emergent in late Fall and early Spring. If you’ve missed that window, you’ll have to spot treat them or just dig them up by hand.

Won’t that kill centipede?

You’re the turf guy. I have a 5 gallon of msma but couldn’t use it because it kills centipede.

Prodiamine as a premergent in Jan/feb. I’m pretty sure tenacity will kill it.

Atrazine will help suppress it.

msma works awesome especially when temps are around 90*. It seems to kill just about anything that isnt a thin narrow bladed grass such as bermuda or zoysia.

MSMA is not available for homeowner use according to the EPA. Years ago you could get it at your local garden center.

Nowadays you have to go to your local Co Op and get a 2 gallon jug with a wink and a nod about your intended use.

But it works great in Bermuda or Zoysia. I've sprayed Johnson grass that had been treated with Gly to little effect and the MSMA turned that grass black in about 3 days.

I've had to dig up a bunch of it in my yard. Had some success spot treating with roundup.

My yard identifies as a golf course so I’m good. I’ve mixed mine hotter but will back off and go to 3 applications.
