NY and California always have real harsh gun legislation during an election year. Its so predictable. This will become NY law and eventually SCOTUS will have to shut it down like they have many times before .As always, I did not need another reason not to go to New York, but this is reason #41366 now.

So they'll figure out a quick, easy way to make switches for other models...likely one that is universal, so er'body can have one!

Do they think that someone actually carrying a Glock with a switch would give 2 f@cks about the handgun itself being illegal?

I didn't watch the video but what rational are they using? I have a Glock and it is no more dangerous than a Beretta. Well, not if you are careful and know what you are doing.

They're saying due to the ease of printing auto-switches for them.

I remember walking down the street in New York after midnight and feeling relatively safe.. I would say as safe as I have ever felt in any downtown of any big city. I have felt much less safe in downtown Birmingham.

That was a whole 7-8 years ago. To raise the bar.... It felt safer than B'ham when Rudi left office.

You just summarized the fundamental problem with virtually ALL gun laws, in one succinct sentence

Guliani got all the credit but it was actually Bill Bratton's work that made NYC safer in those days. To Guliani's credit though, he is the one that let Bratton run the PD and implement the ideas that made the crime drop.

Thats sorta like New Orleans. Its odd to feel safe, sober or drunk, in the French Quarter in the middle of a crowd of strange looking people, because everybody in that crowd knows its extremely dangerous to step one foot out of the French Quarter, even in broad daylight.

With all the Jews running new York and our country...you would think they would be pro guns. Look at Israel when Hamas casually walked around and slaughtered them. Those YouTube videos are horrifying. If each home had guns like we do here in the south, they could have fought back instead of not having a chance.

I just got back from NYC last week, I go every year for work, and I've never felt particularly unsafe in NYC (not to say I've never felt on edge there in certain circumstances, but not to a greater extent than other big cities in other parts of the country). I take the subways, etc. New Orleans is a different story, even though I go there a good bit and am more familiar with it than NYC, New Orleans does not feel safe to me in a lot of places, and it seems to be noticeably worse than it was say 5 years ago.

One thing that is a little different now than in the past, for both NYC, NOLA, and probably a lot of other cities, is the open drug use with the relaxed rules, which I sense is creating an environment where more people are in an altered state and are subject to acting irrationally.

May be able to pick-up some cheap glocks from New Yorkers having to get rid of them.

Also knowing that everyone most likely is carrying a gun tends to imply politeness.

Simple Glock is the number 1 selling handgun.
