Looks like our kids got a two hour sleep late day. Wish I did.

What will the school children of today think when they have no weather delays at work or figure out that weather can screw with their paycheck?

Most salaried jobs have the ability to flex time or some even work from home on bad weather days. Kind of the same, but not completely apples to apples.

See my "going soft" thread. That's 100% what i was posting about. Dern near every appointment i had yesterday morning called and asked "are you still open, with the weather i wasn't sure". Grief. It's raining. It's windy. Maybe some thunder and lightning. I get it...if there's active nader warnings or so a 'cane is coming ashore...yeah. But it's raining so lets delay school for 2 hours.

Most schools are built better than people homes for storms. They closed the schools yesterday and my high school son said "#lovemesomeliberals" and went to play golf.

Not that I totally disagree with yall and Gman about getting soft, but there is another side to taking precaution. We did not let out of school early once and went under a tornado warning right before the busses were loaded. 2 storms popped up quick back to back with warnings. We could not release students and set in the hallways till almost 6pm. Parents were furious. Not to mention what happened at Enterprise High. The tornado that hit my family narrowly missed Lawrence Co High last year. My kids had just got to school and were immediately put in the hallways. I will take inconvenience over the lives of students.

For here, we did get some tough early morning storms, no tornadoes, but a strong man would have been real uncomfortable waiting on a bus outside this morning. So it was a legit reason to delay.
