The carbine and M1 Garand are my favorite guns to shoot. .30 Carbine had a reputation for being weak during the Korean War, but it’s actually a pretty decent cartridge. Compared to a 30-06, it’s a wuss…apples and oranges. Any opposition soldier that got hit with a 30-06 173 grain bullet would a whole appendage blown off or a giant hole where it hit. I wouldn’t want to get shot with either!!! No doubt. They are absolutely different because they were designed for different applications.

The garand would have been miserable to carry. For the Pacific campaign, I think there would be even more benefits to the carbine. A Garand wouldn’t have been much fun to carry compared to the carbine.

Got a Ruger Blackhawk old western single action 30 cal carbine. It was my grandfathers. Love to pull that thing out every now and then and let her sing. I was recently given one of these by a relative. 👍 Hope they gave your some earplugs with it. Those things are LOUD.

Its amazing how similar those two cartridges are. The 327 will bust your ear drums even with hearing protection.
