I was an Oiler fan from watching him run. Bum was a great coach and personality. Wish they would have had better Oline. Stabler made it all work with his sidearm passes.

The dude is in the NFL Hall of Fane Thats right wew...Yes, absolutely, I've heard of him, also remember watching him play when I was a kid..He was the real deal for sure and would punish defenses, especially in the fourth quarter...Helluva R.B. IMO. Here is a copy and paste I found for you B.W.... Campbell was selected first overall by the Oilers in the 1978 NFL draft, and had an immediate impact in the league, earning NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Campbell was also named the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year in each of his first three seasons, during which he averaged nearly 1,700 rushing yards per season. Campbell won the AP NFL Most Valuable Player Award in 1979 after leading the league in rushing yards and touchdowns.....

For Earl's entire career, he averaged only 19 carries per game in the NFL The most he ever averaged for a single season under Bum was 24 carries per game with the majority of his years in Houston being 19-21 carries per game. I would've thought it to be a lot higher than that because I do remember watching him and it always seemed like he was toting the rock every other play.

If you think Earl had talent I'm gonna turn you on to this guy from the 50's that sings rock and roll. His name is Elvis. Can't believe I never heard of him till lately !!!!

Loved watching him run the ball. He and Walter Payton were two of my favorites to watch in the old days. Two of the best ever although with completely different styles. One would run through you and the other would run around you and leave you with broken ankles from trying to get him.

Man I remember watching Earl Campbell and the Houston Oilers back in the day, always pulled for them, they had Kenny Stabler and Billy "WhiteShoes" Johnson.....I wanted them to win a superbowl so bad, but that's when the Steelers and Bradshaw were in charge, couldn't be mad at them because I am from Louisiana, right in Bradshaw country.....
