When some of you say "teachers' union," I assume you're not talking about Alabama since we don't have a teachers' union here. We have an association that attempts with only marginal success to help us and mediate with legislators, but we have no union. I've seen teachers who had tenure for years be fired and sent home right here at my school. Tenure is not a bulletproof protection; we have no union protection as public school teachers.
PoorCountryPreacher is correct in his description of the AEA earlier in this thread.
