No goblin here in Jackson co. Know we have birds they feed every evening in the fields. Just not vocal. No fun that way.

Set up at 0830 in a spot I've seen and heard birds. Soft called til 10. Heard something in the valley next to me walking around but it never showed up. I moved further down the logging road and saw some really fresh gobbler tracks crossing the road. Thinking he might have came up the hill from behind and peaked around and walked off. Never made a turkey sound if it was him I heard moving.

They are moving like crazy currently. Cams show them everywhere one day then gone for a week then back for a day. Same thing on multiple properties in multiple counties. Guess they fi fished the main breeding so now they have to wander more to find hens

My usual morning of hearing nothing. Now preacher - you know they gobble better and more consistent on A22 vs M22. Even the dead ones.

I've still got a tag left and I will keep going occasionally until the season runs out or I get lucky and fill it. I've never seen hunting in AL in May before, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like. Can't wait.

This has been an extremely frustrating year for me. From birds roosting just off property lines, to gobbling their heads off with hens. I haven’t felt like I’ve been in a position to actually play the game at all this year. I think I’ve been a total of four times, which doesn’t help, but I just feel off. Anybody else out there in the same boat? Hoping to turn it around late. I usually have killed two or three by now.

I feel ya. I’ve yet to be in the game with a mature bird yet. I coulda put 2 jakes to sleep but just not gonna do that. There are still some killers out there tho. I went to a place today that I’ve hunted a whole bunch over the years and killed several on the tract. Didn’t hear a bird. This is a spot whew I can usually go and here 4 or 5 every morning.

It’s been a frustrating year, but also managed to scratch out two and miss one. I also called one in for my son, but a shot never presented itself. I’ve heard consistent gobbling on ONE tract. I haven’t heard a single bird on three others all year, and they’re usually good for a bird or two. I’m going to keep at it, but I’m not hopeful. I usually do my killing before the last week of April, and here we are. If I don’t kill another one I’m fully content with this season given what I’ve done with what little I’ve had to play with.

Had a good hunt. Worked 2 birds. One shoud have died but wouldnt stick his head over the hump. Stayed within 30 yards for an hour. The other just wouldnt come the last 40 yards but gobbled good.

I’ve had one bird at the house by himself all year. He will occasionally show up with a hen or 3 jakes but have no pics strutting since first week of March with two other gobs. I’ve probably heard 15-20 gobbles all season and I listen most mornings for a minute before work.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!
