Got number 2 on public this morning, this one at Lauderdale. Didn’t hear a single bird on the limb walking in two miles. Sat down and called up a hen and then two jakes 15 minutes later. After the jakes wandered off a woodpecker called out and he gobbled on a ridge about 200 yards away and I cut the distance, called once and he came strutting down the hillside to me in the bottom. Tried to skirt me to the left and I let the ole 12 gauge eat. Dead at 40 yards! You know he was there the whole time listening to you.. congratulations
