I would like to have about a 14' or 15' little center console skiff. A nice used one. maybe like a Scout, Boston Whaler or similar.

Finance the chit out of it IMO.
Best purchase we’ve made in a long time.

Used boat prices are way down compared to what they were couple years ago. I purchased a used 18ft CC with a 90hp Yama and just paid cash for it. I have no regrets.. its been a good boat and I use it often. Probably at least once a week between now and deer season. Been looking for a Bowrider for about 2 years now and just scared to pull the trigger. They are selling some really cool bowriders with outboards but just don't seem to have made it around Alabama. I would prefer an outboard over the Merc or Volvo inboard.

I'm planning on downsizing in the next few years, I made the cardinal sin of buying a bigger boat about 5 years ago. Mo' boat, Mo' trouble.

Honestly, if you just like to fish and have a few creature comforts, you can't beat a Bass Tracker style boat...pick a brand, they are pretty much all the same.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

My '06 28' Dusky Diesel Boat is hopefully gonna be someone else's Baby soon. Just not worth the upkeep,Cost, repairs, etc. anymore to go Offshore what with the LOW Bag Limits.

Bought my first boat ( used) last year. I have enjoyed it, except having to have fiberglass fixed( hit something) and lower unit froze( seal had been leaking)

Nope the best two times are buying a boat and selling a boat.
It's not how much money you make, but how much you can keep.

Nope the best two times are buying a boat and selling a boat. I've had a lot of good times! 😄 Boats are only a nightmare if you can't afford a good one. Not a new one, just a good one. People buy junk to get on the lake and it's problem after problem.

People finance for 15 years everyday because the dealership offers another “big” discount to do so. That’s because the dealership makes more money when they do, that more than compensates for the “discount” they give you. The salesman also makes a kicker when he convinces you to finance for that long too. But, you have to hold the loan for “X” number of months, usually 6, for him to get his kicker. He’ll tell you that you HAVE to hold the loan at least that many months or else you’ll owe the amount discounted back, but it’s BS. (Yes, boat salesmen lie just like car salesmen.) It’s a simple loan that you can pay off whenever you’re ready. The last new boat I bought, I took the extra discount and financed for 15 years. Made one payment then paid it off. To heck with their silly games that make them money.
I’ve had a whole bunch of boats of all kinds. If you’re buying for pleasure fishing on the local lakes/rivers, the best boat you can buy can be bought for under $20k. No need to spend a small fortune.

I grew up on a boat and always had and will always have a boat. My boat is a tool to provide lots of good fresh food and fun for the family. Hunt, fish or play, we get our moneys worth out of it. Hell back in the day when I’d sell seafood, I’ve probably paid for the boat 10 fold. Don’t have to do that now. We just get what we need and give the rest to friends and family.

Love my boat it fits most of all my needs. HOWEVER one thing i would do different is, I'd a had one built by life tyme boats in Jonesville Louisiana when my father n law had his built about 16 years ago, his daddy, uncle, and cousin (and some friends) all have Life tyme boats, and they're built like tanks, and ride damn good. I imagine it's probably doubled in price now unfortunately...
