I got me a remote caller and started hunting them, been 3 times got totes in the edge of the field 2 times, wounded 1, other got stuck behind a tree limb so there was not a shot opportunity. There is a learning curve so I don’t go but about every 7-10 days, stay in one spot 30-40 minutes and no happenings, move to another spot. Been setting up on greenfield stands. But right now it’s a blast.

I've seen yotes caught on limb lines...sometimes folks don't set the bait deep enough in the water or over the water cause they don't know how to fish.

The big problem is going to be if you kill a neighbors pet and they find out what happened. They will be coming for your friend with both barrels.

Yep. Get some foothold traps. Then you can release the neighbors dog with a catch pole. And they are none the wiser. And trapping is fun.

I know someone that did this. They had a 55gal drum full of sponges and bacon grease. Neighbors dogs knocked it over and ate half of them. The neighbors dogs are still getting in the trash to this day.

Didn’t believe this until I saw it for myself. Years ago I had a neighbor had some in a barn, he mixed maybe 2 teaspoons with cat food and dropped it in scoops in the middle of the road, we walked that road 2 days later and it was a killing field. Raccoons, possums, rabbits, rats, and several buzzards. What was so weird is whatever ate it didnt make it 15-20 feet before they killed over. I never thought it was possible to poison a buzzard. He never used it again. What was the original untended use of something that potent?

Chemical warfare. Same goes for a lot of nasty stuff like that. Chlorine and mustard gas were never really much of an industrial product until after WWI when they figured out how to use it for useful things.

I kill every yote I see, and would like to completely eradicate them from my property but have no desire to “make it painful”.

Nematodes, thrips, mites and aphids. We used it in granular form in the seed furrow for inground pests that eat plant roots, on a row crop farm. It is also used in pecan orchards, in liquid form (I think), mixed with fertilizer. We've used ULV Malathion for boll weevils for many years...same as mosquito man, but different solution. Pyrethroids were used in the past, but don't have the residual that Malathion does.

I think the problem is isolating the death to the coyotes. So is it worth killing a bunch of other animals to kill the coyotes? I guess that’s a question for the person putting out the temic.

I understand the concern but ive never seen that to be the case. Usually coyotes, coons and possums. Might be an occasional dog. But theres also a case to be made for "if that dog was where he was supposed to be, he would still be alive." Just a casualty of war. What i have not seen happen is the protected animals, deer and turkeys, get hurt by the agent used to kill the predators. I can almost say for certain that dont happen. So, the goal was accomplished and the animals youre trying to protect benefitted from it. Like i said, i understand your concern but im just reporting what i have personally witnessed.

Know how is the first step
