^^^^ More than likely that’s purely anecdotal vs models/designs…..if the 3 lugs have the same bearing surface as two, then lift force should be a wash. Two lug designs often only have full bearing in the last 1/2-1/4 of their travel before lock, so they can feel really light after initial bolt lift. Multi-lug designs usually have a higher percentage of their cycle in full bearing, so you could ‘perceive’ them as stiffer, but only because you don’t get that additional throw with no resistance….or that’s what the looney rifle builder used to blather about in the shop. Perceptions vary…some straight pull or toggle bolts can ‘feel’ really stiff, though they’re faster and take less movement. Generally, there’s no free ride….you pay somewhere…..scope clearance, more torque to your sight picture to lift the bolt, etc. I like having a variety of choices for a specific purpose.
