I deal with a lot of material hoists at work and design the rigging to go with them, depending on the application. OSHA calls for a 2:1 safety factor when dealing with material hoists. I know OSHA isn’t involved here but it’s still a good guideline to go by. So…if your lifting 100 lbs max, make sure your rigging is rated for 200 lbs minimum
