Pharmacy tax HB 238

This sounds like a crock! This would add ~ $70/month to folks with 6 scripts.

Who are the phuckin idiots who want to get voted out?

Raising any kind of tax right now is a non-starter for everybody, much less a severe tax on medications folks need. It just so happens that the folks who take the most medication are also the same folks on a fixed income.

Phillip Rigsby of Huntsville needs to be got gone, it does not matter if he's a R or a D, ya'll folks up there go ahead and vote his ass out.

I'm gonna be emailing many people over this. I know it hasnt made it to a vote yet but this is just shitty. I just sent all my tax stuff to my accountant and I had over 8000$ in out of pocket medical and pharmacy expenses. we had around 155 prescriptions for the year. This bill would add another almost $1600.00 to that. This has got to stop. I guess I need to flee to Mexico, get a good tan, walk back across and get some free shucks. Me speako no englisho.

This pisses me off. We have a surplus in Government. They just mailed us $150 per person tax rebate. Republican supermajority my ass. Most are democrats...especially our governor.

Looking at these folks, it appears that they are all in districts with large black and large illegal populations. Albertville, Mobile, etc... The insurance companies are giving these folks money to get this passed so they can offset what they are going to lose because those populations get free government prescriptions. In other words, penalize honest producers to buy votes.

Republicans are not about smaller government and dang sure are not about being fiscally conservative. Most of these are Republicans and they doing what Republicans do.. they give ya'll some false hope that they will reduce govt but that has really never happened. But the core will always vote for them because they come across as Pro Life... so they can do what they want to do in regards to spending and taxes.

You will vote for them again and again.

I can see nobody that has posted has any connection into the pharmacy side of things. This has been a much needed thing and we aren’t set to make big bucks off this. Between insurance reimbursements and copays we lose money on a large number of prescriptions every day. A lot of independent pharmacies have already closed over this issue and the trend will continue if nothing is done. Pretty soon you will have to rely on the chains and you won’t get the customer service you would get from someone like me or CAL.

The bill will require pharmacy benefit managers to pay the pharmacies for the actual cost of the medication plus a dispensing fee. I work at an independent pharmacy so this will affect us…

Exactly, this is NOT a tax and is much needed reform of the PBMs.
