Just happened in New Hope , 3 yo dead on the scene . This is the second in about a week up here. Not sure about the breed , not a lot of details so far. There will be more info on the Huntsville stations at 10. Prayers for the family . This happens way too often.

I don’t trust any dog that isn’t mine, and I don’t let my kids around them at feeding time or when I’m not around… I truly hate hearing these stories.

(WHNT) — Officials say a toddler is dead after they were attacked by a dog in New Hope on Friday evening. HEMSI Spokesperson Don Webster said they responded to the call on T R Christian Road at about 5:21 p.m. Webster said the child who was attacked was pronounced dead on the scene. Madison County Sheriff’s Office Spokesperson Brent Patterson said the child was at a neighbor’s house when they were attacked by a neighbor’s dog. A News 19 crew at the scene said they saw two dogs being taken in by animal control after the incident. HEMSI responded alongside the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, New Hope Police Department and Owens Cross Roads Police Department.

The man said both of his dogs were taken by animal control, though he said he believes only one was involved in the attack.

NEW HOPE, Ala. (WAFF) - A two-year-old child is dead after dogs attacked him on Friday evening. According to Don Webster with HEMSI, the attack happened just before 5:30 this evening on T.R. Christian Road in New Hope. Ricky Clark, the owner of the dogs, believes the boy got into his backyard by opening the gate himself. The gate was latched but not locked. He also says his dogs have never harmed anyone before. We don’t know the name of boy who died or whether the dogs will be put down as a result of the attacks. However, we do know the breed of the dogs were a Husky and a German Shepard/Golden Retriever mix. Madison County Coroner Dr. Tyler Berryhill confirmed that the boy was pronounced dead at the scene. Berryhill says he sustained fatal bite wounds and an autopsy will be performed this week. WAFF
