I hate it more when I don't even know about the deal to be able to pass it up.
Example: My neighbors BIL knows what I do. I've done work for him.
He was looking for a Glock 20 10mm. Had a Browning Citori for trade.
He traded straight up for a used G20 and 2 mags. No ammo, no boot from the G20 owner.
Just a straight trade for the G20 for the LNIB Citori
I'd gotten him a new one and paid all taxes and handled the transfer for that deal
