Leland Whaley got on a rant one day (a lot of people do not like him, but I do) I Listen to him everyday, he is very knowledgeable, and Informative. I Wish more people would Listen to him. He Definitely tells it Like it is. I Will Admit I could do without some of the Clowning around, between him & AJ. But other than that, Best News Source in the State. Plus he runs the Commie Al. Com Down. Because they SUCK.

If I remember right, Leland Whaley got on a rant one day (a lot of people do not like him, but I do) about the ABC store and the profit they were bringing into the state AND the lost revenue from people going out of state to get what they wanted. The stores made north of $65 million profit and the projected losses to other states was 4-5 times that. That is why state will not get out of the liquor business. Someone is getting their pockets lined.
Look up what the asking prices of a bottle of Eagle Double Rare is on the net. Full sets of Pappy too. So, is the 4-5 times loss due to pricing or quality/quantity issues, not a consumer of the brown water just the occasional tequila for some frozen margaritas out by the pool

Baffles me why Alabamians allow the government to yank their chain and control when and what they purchase. I honestly do not understand it. If I want anything at all that I can't walk in and get, I just stop in GA, TN, FL or MS whenever I'm in those areas and buy what I want without all the BS government over reach. Folks just line up to be dominated. Makes no sense to me. It's not a shot at anyone personally. I just don't understand it. Not sure how we've allowed socialism in our state. ABC board needs to end immediately.

I can drive across the state line right now and buy Eagle Rare for $40. Just bought a bottle last weekend. Also Crown blackberry for 24.99 and it’s just now hitting ABC stores if you can find it and it’s $29.99. ABC is ridiculous. 🤷🏽♂️

lot of misinformation posted in this thread. while the good stuff might be on shelves in other states/specialty stores, it's going to be full retail plus, and you often have to barter with the cashier maybe buy another bottle of something they're trying to move just to get what you want. if picked for an abc allocation spot, you have the option of buying allocated stuff at the abc price. i've never seen blanton's for $70, eh taylor for $50, eagle rare for $40, or 10yr pappy for $100 on the shelves in ANY state...but you might see it on an allocation date in alabama.
All of that is available several times a year at retail here in Kentucky. I don't drink but several of my friends here buy it at Walmart when they get their delivery. Pappy is a little tougher but they get it. Blanton is available nearly year round as well as Weller and most other Buffalo Trace brands.
