Whenever I bought a tract that had BW on it good enough for logs or veneer, I had to "sub" it out to other buyers to haul across the TN line to even sell them. Everyone back then in NE AL said the quality was poor. I believe it was collusion.
I saw some BW sawed up, air dried, and used to make a set of spiral steps in a guy's house. Breathtaking! I have quite a few walnut logs i intend on making flooring and maybe countertops out of, or if not countertops a kitchen island top.
