Looking to pickup a vest that would allow me to sit down without a tree to lean against. I would use this as a secondary vest, and just swap to it occasionally, instead of grabbing the gobbler lounger. The lighter the better.
Recommendations?

The Alps with the kickstand is great for sitting without a tree. It’s not exactly light as vests go, but is pretty comfortable. The kickstand is removable too, for when it’s not needed

I’ve been using a Bucklick Creek vest that I bought brand new in 1999. BassPro sells the Bucklick Creek now(I think BassPro bought them out?🤷♂️). The seat portion is the same, but the pocket layout is different. I love my vest and find it very hard to move on to a new vest, as this one is finally wearing out. I use the seat WAY more than most folks would think. And that’s hunting in timberland and out West. I can’t stand a cushion on a vest, but love these type seats.
I can’t stand the gobbler lounger thingys. I’ve tried them, but they have more cons than pros for me.

Tidewe makes one that looks interesting, has a chair frame with 2 legs built into the vest that are adjustable and can take a seat anywhere.

I use an alps vest with the kickstand all the time. It’s not uncommon for me to walk 7+miles a day, the weight of the vest has never bothered me and is nice to sit in. I just bought my wife one from Southern Outdoor Sports for about $100. They had them for 60% off a few weeks ago.

If you can find one, a Little Big Horn Outdoors Turkey Lounge/Vest. I was fortunate enough to find one online for 80$ that was practically brand new a few years ago.

I agree with the majority on Alpz recommendations. Only used that kickstand while in TX but it was great.

The original Bucklick Creeks were the best ones I've found. The new bass pro versions sit good and I like them but the seat quality is junk. The self supporting rods eventually shove through the fabric and its no longer self supporting. I think I'm on my 4th one in about 10 years and I weigh about 170. I'm sure heavier folks would get less use out of them. I don't think I can go back to a vest that I can't sit down wherever I want without looking for a tree though
