Yea! I got notified yesterday that I won place 1 at store 153 in Gadsden. I still can't believe that I won much less place 1. Love me some good bourbon especially the top tier stuff. My wife and I love a good bourbon hunt. She doesn't drink it but gets more excited than I do on the hunts. It's a challenge for us to see what we can find. I have a pretty good collection as of now. The hunt and collection is addicting. We won't know until March 11 what will be available. My only regret is that I only get one bottle from tables one and two. Cheers!

Baffles me why Alabamians allow the government to yank their chain and control when and what they purchase. I honestly do not understand it. If I want anything at all that I can't walk in and get, I just stop in GA, TN, FL or MS whenever I'm in those areas and buy what I want without all the BS government over reach. Folks just line up to be dominated. Makes no sense to me. It's not a shot at anyone personally. I just don't understand it.

The lotto is different folks line up at the store not far from me. We enjoy looking and buying different bourbons. If looking for rare finds go towards Kentucky or Georgia. Get them without waiting on the state. Paducah Kentucky hit the casino shop the liquor stores and dinner by the river walk.

I don't drink so this whole concept is new to me. You mean the State of Alabama makes you enter a lottery to buy bourbon???

Guess this explains why I see folks lined up outside the ABC store on Sat am at 0530 when it’s 20-deg.

No, you can go in any abc store and buy bourbon all day long. The lottery is for allocated items only. These are items that you can't find on the shelves every day. Another thing is is you are paying retail for the items instead of secondary prices which can be quite substantial. I can go to my local liquor store and buy Blanton's all day long but the price is at least double that of normal retail.

your post reminded me of this quote

They want you to obey. They want you to be a sheep like they are sheep. Obedient, unquestioning piece of machinery. Sit when told to sit, stand when told to stand. They want you to give up your humanity, your autonomy for a paycheck, gold star, bigger TV.

the rest of the quote

The only way to be human, the only way to be free, is to rebel. They’ll try to crush you. They’ll use every tactic they have to make you obedient, docile, subservient, but you can’t let them. You have to be your own master, whatever that takes. Better to die a human being than to live as a purposeless cog in their machine.

Unbelievable that the good people of Alabama have to be subjected to this.

What a Joke. I don't even buy bourbon here in-state. Don't have time for this BS.

The better question…

How are we always on allocation while other states have the good stuff in stock?

I'm in Mississippi regularly, and it ain't uncommon for folks to be wanting over $44 for Buffalo trace, and i know of 2 places, that have their Blantons priced at $199.99 🤣

Until social media and their dang bourbon groups you could get anything you wanted anytime you wanted it. Dudes started comparing bourbon collections like peckers to see who had the biggest one.
