Dash cams are great unless you’re at fault. Someone correct me, but I’m pretty sure the footage can be obtained by police and used against you as well if you’re involved in an accident. Just something I would consider as well. I’ve thought many times about getting one and may get one soon. What is recorded can be erased The police don't normally state who is at fault anymore, they just write up the accident and what both people say happened. So the chances of them going after your dashcam footage seems low to me. But even so, they would need a warrant.
