Looks like this might be the last year for wife's bakery/restaurant. Sure, there is the age thing for her but she loves doing it. The main reason is inflation. She cannot charge enough to cover the expense of doing business and expect people to pay it. Her costs have almost doubled in the last two years. Power, utilities, insurance, basics like flour, butter, milk, sugar, eggs - all the basic essential ingredients have increased twofold if not more. She would have to almost triple the cost of everything going out the door to stay viable. People won't/can't pay that for a non essential product. Think about that next time someone tells you how great the economy is under democrats.
Can she convert the bakery portion into a cottage business and work out of your home? Or maybe she can adjust her marketing to lure the ones who can afford the increased cost in products.
