I usually crappie fish this time of year, but the last couple weeks I’ve set my sights on something even better. Anyone else chase these minnow stealing rascals?

I might’ve showed him. Hahahaha. Not really, but even if someone knows where to go, they’re not easy. I only got 4 keepers on one of my days and tried for hours to get the fifth, but never could. It’s usually a slow process, but worth the wait for table fare.

I’ve caught them for years, but never seriously targeted them. For those that know, where do they go after the spawn? Back down river to the deep holes? They are slap full of eggs right now, so I’m assuming this bite will change soon.

Im just aggervatin…we caghtem ever now an again crappie fishin and bass fishin..my neighbor was purty good at catchinem…he some of the biggest i ever seen..an everbody fishes that lock forem…i rekin thats the community hole for sauger…they seem to like a rocky spot jn the winter time an bite in the crappiest weather imaginable…i know you can findem on the channels in purty deep water an on ledges an creeks…my neighbor always caughtem on th e creek channels an hed be out there..15 degrees an poorin rain…i aint that mad atem

Nah, he just showed everyone the popular spot to catch them. Much better spots for measuring size down the river. If I ever see him filming in one of those spots he’ll have to swim to get his camera back. 😆

I never could get on them down there. Too much current i guess. Couldnt keep it on bottom. I would sure like to see how you do it

On a serious note, there’s a brazillion white bass in the mouths of the creeks. Get bit on every cast if anyone is looking for some fun.

Personally, I’m sick and tired of Richard Gene and his damned fishing videos showing the whole damned world where to catch fish just so he can make money off it! It’s ALWAYS about the money or ego.

Everybody already knows, there are no such thing as secret spots.

I used to fish for them many moons ago, but then they disappeared for several years. They have made a comeback, but I don't think they are there like they were in the 90's and early 2000's. Like Topcat said, those days when you have to keep a hood over your head and keep busting the ice out of your rod eyes, that's the days when you eat Sauger for supper.

Social media ruins everything. Bankhead, guntersville, the dam, Smith lake stripe, everything. Screw Richard Gene.

I like it when Rocky Drake and Richard Gene posts their videos. I just laugh at the crowd of boats as I travel to where the better fishing spots are. The flathead bite is starting to turn on. I just need a good skipjack trip to load my freezer.
