Friendly reminder to be safe and always aware of your equipment. I had an incident saturday that I wanted to share. I had a misfire last year with these while on a rabbit hunt. Saturday while on a hunt using my .12ga. Stoger O/U I missed the 1st shot(bottom barrel) then to my surprise on the follow up shot (top barrel) I heard what sounded like a cap gun. Thinking it was just another bad shell but I checked the barrel just in case. Sure enough the wad was hung up about 10' down. I had to cut a stick and ram-rod it out. I cant stop thinking if someone would have just loaded another shell in haste how badly that could turn out. Needless to say it will be Winchester ammo only for me going forward. Any of you guys had a problem with Federal shotgun shells?

I personally quit using Federal buckshot years ago because the crimps wouldn’t hold the buffer material. It would leak out all in my shotgun and I constantly had to clean it. Winchester got my business

Most shotgun powders are towards the faster burn rate side compared to rifles but it's never a good idea to touch anything off with a barrel obstruction.

Never know what you get now a days. My freind runs dogs and quit using Winchester buckshot cause they had a few to snap and not fire. He uses federal flight control buckshot now.

This is the reason when I duck hunted alot I quit using Federal. Has one do the "snap cap" thing and I saw the shot roll out the end of the bbl. After that day, I always kept a cleaning rod in my blind bag to push wads out if needed. Heavy Shot, Winchester and Estate is what I used mostly.
