Make sure they are sighted in/still on is key. don't do like me and miss 4 turkeys in a week only to realize your red dot is 2.5 feet high at 20 yards. Stopped using one for a while then realized at 40 yards, my eyes are getting to where with a bead, it covers the entire turkey up. I made the switch back and back to loving it though I check my gun yearly at least/ if any bump to it etc. I carry field loads around and shoot campaign signs on the regular during season just to make sure
