was watching pig man a few nights ago and he was shooting these broadheads. was thinking about the mechanicals. i shoot rages now and have no complaints but just curious about these. any first hand experience

Anything mechanical can fail. I lost the only deer I shot with one. That was the first and last deer I have ever shot with a mechanical head. I now shoot Slick Tricks.

Knock on wood!!! I have not lost a deer shot with a rage, I was loosing at least one deer a year with my thunderheads. There is no getting around a bad shot while bowhunting, its not if but when and I think a expandable broadhead with a moderate kinect energy will let you recover deer you wouldn't get otherwise. It's a ford chevy topic with pros and cons on both sides. I prefer a stevie wonder bloodtrail instead of crawling around on all 4's looking for for specs.....

As I've said before, a friend of mine shoots them in Georgia.

At last count, he had connected on 17 deer and found all 17 within 100 yards or less. Most within sight.


I don't shoot them but it's tough to argu those stats with him when talking broadheads.

They are awesome! I've shot a LOT of mechanicals, and these are by far the best. Easy to replace blades. The tips and ferrel are tough. I've watched every deer I've shot with them fall with the exception of one. That was shooter error. Hit square in the shoulder.

which reaper model are you using?

I have used the 2blade rage for about 4 years with no complaints. This year I got a pack of the 3 blade grim reapers because I've heard so many good things about them. Both shoot like a field tip.

Which model do I need to look at. I have never put my hands on one.

I love Grim Reapers. I have watched every deer I shot with one die within sight of my tree. Awesome broadheads. I like the standard cut size that looks like this.

how hard is it to change out the blades on them. stopped by bass pro today and picked up 4 ladder stands so couldn't bring it to myself to buy a pack but definitely had them in my hand!

I shoot the ones Todd1700 listed. Grim Reaper Razortip 1 3/8" cut, 100 GR.

Not hard to change them out. Just pay attention to how you take it apart and you'll see exactly how to reassemble. Once you do one it will be easy. I can change one out in about 2 minutes.

Last deer I saw shot with them looked like it had been shot with a gun and did not run far.

Good looking broadhead, they resemble the spitfire in design! Might have to give these a look!

I shot them for several years and love them. The blades to me were aggravating to swap, but that was the only negative I have to say. Every deer I shot just hopped a few yards and fell over. Not sure what it is about the heads, but they don't burn out when shot like other heads I have used. They stopped carrying them locally so I swapped to the Rage, but I would go back to the Grim Reaper any time. Great heads.

Ive been using the Grim Reaper razortips for the last 4 seasons and never had a deer run over 40 yards,watched them all drop from my treestand.and man oh man what a blood trail.all that ive shot were complete pass thru shots. will not ever use any other kind of head. these are the real deal!!
