My FIL was a Vietnam vet, USAF. When he died a couple years ago the MIL was able to exercise the burial benefit they enrolled for back in the 60's. It grew with interest since then and she was able to finalize any loose debt they had with the remainder of it after the funeral. I need to check on that, my grandfather is a Vietnam and Korean War vet. Military sure has been good to them over the years.
