Brownells has Howa 1500 barreled actions with carbon barrels for $699 right now in 308
Will be tough to beat for money.pick out stock of liking and have a tack driver
The Brownells Howa barreled actions are probably best way to get a tack driver under $1k
They run the standard chromoly barreled actions cheaper .
Definitely a good option and pretty consistent quality .they shoot very well
I'd say more consistent than a anything under $1k except Tikka or weatherby vanguard Man that deal at PSA on the Steyr Pro Hunter III was a smoking deal and it shoots lights out. Dont know if it is still going on. But I snagged one.
Hunting brings out the worst in people.
