An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Often, BP meds or many meds we dispense are the pound of cure. Exercise, diet and sleep patterns are the prevention. Remove as many carbs as you can stand and see where you end up.

If you have to go on meds, I’d look at Losartan or Metoprolol. Preferably the Losartan or a drug in that class. Your heart rate will determine if you can tolerate a beta blocker such as metoprolol.

I dont want to take something that drags me down or makes my pecker quit working. I would not be absolutely against bp meds if theres no other option, as long as it dont alter my life somehow. I am asking for advice, so lets hear it.....

I wouldn't worry about it, iam on meds just to get mine where yours is so if the doc is good with mine being what yours is it should be good for you, mine was staying around 180 over 130 and the wife and her friends wouldn't shut up about it is only reason I take them

Mine usually runs about 125 to 130 over 75 to 80. Yours doesn’t seem alarmingly high. Heck I’ve heard our truck driver talking about his top number being 190 when taking his DOT physical and the doc giving him meds and sending him to a waiting room for awhile to be able to pass him

This. I went to the doc a few days ago and mine was 145/80. That was the nurse taking it as soon as we got in the room. It has never been that high in my entire life. After the doc came in and we talked a few minutes, she took it again and it was 130/70

I use Christopher’s Hawthorn Berry Heart Syrup bought on eBay. Dosage on the bottle is 3x/day 2.5ml, but I do about 3ml 2x/day morning and night cause it’s just easier. There are several organic mom and pop shops on eBay that sell some as well that I may try if I stay with it, which at this point I’m thinking I will.

Well, i ordered some hawthorn berry ectract pills off Amazon. 8000mg. $28 shipping and all. Five month supply. . I read a little about the possible health benefits. Looks like something that would help me in several ways. We shall see

Try dandelion pills. Will drop your pressure by pissing 24/7. They are a heck of a diuretic.

I always had good blood pressure, but I have gained a few extra pounds and then I got covid in august of last year and it spiked. Historically I was 115/70 but I was running 150/95 for a few months and went on 2.5 miligrams of amlodipine. Bumped it to 5 miligrams in december and back to 120/75 now still without dropping weight. Im 240-245 pounds now and I think in the next couple months I'll drop back to my normal weight of 225 and hopefully get off of the pills. I'm pretty skinny at 220, so that is the goal going forward. Exercise and a good diet is the key. But, the doses Im at amlodipine Ive had no side effects.
