I have owned, and shot deer, with just about every cartridge made from .22 short hollow point to 50BMG......EXCEPT any .308. I don't recall even firing one at paper..... Well you haven’t lived yet till you squeeze the trigger on a fine .308, Paw Paw!!! 
It's hard to kiss the lips at night that chews your a$$ all day long.
